Bring HD services to the market at an affordable price
Philadelphia, PA – July 18, 2006 – Cubist Post & Effects, the area’s premier post production project studio, now offers high definition post, following a just completed rewiring and routing undertaking, and the addition of new digital and HD signal monitors.
Cubist Creative Director John Ballentyne, says, “Clients expect Cubist to be in the forefront of new technologies. We were first to provide advanced DVD authoring, and it’s time to break down the post production barriers that held back the spread of High Definition video.
Cubist’s technical engineers redesigned and rewired the studio’s media processing center to output at 1080i, 1080p, and 720p formats, with the ability to cross-convert to most any other format. They equipped it with digital signal processing to ensure the highest quality images and sound added a Leader Electronics LV7700 rasterizing digital signal analyzer that conforms to 17 HD and SD standards.
According to Ballentyne, HD should be the format of choice for producers but the price of post and distribution has kept it out of reach for most. But now, he says, producers don’t have to settle. “We’ve invested in ways that allow us to bring HD services to the market at an affordable price point.”
The byword at Cubist is “flexibility.” A producer can edit and finish a program or simply master at Cubist. And with a variety of professional formats including HDCam. HDV, Digital Beta and DVCAM, producers can work with any source and then deliver to their client’s specifications.
Located in Old City, Cubist offers a convenient, state-of-the-art facility with a fully networked PC and MAC environment, Final Cut HD editing suites equipped with dual 2GHZ G5 workstations, and ten terabytes of uncompressed storage.
