Cubist Media Group Welcomes New Era in High Def with Blu-ray
Delivers ‘your content, the way it was meant to be seen’™
Philadelphia, PA – Feb. 21, 2008 – When Toshiba sounded the death knell for HD DVD by saying it would no longer manufacture players, many in the industry breathed a sigh of relief: Finally, the consumer confusion can end, and Sony’s Blu-ray survives as the preferred format.
At Philadelphia’s Cubist Media Group, where both formats were equally at home, life went on. “We know both formats so there will not even be a hiccup here,” says Interactive Manager Dave Maietta. “We have spent the past two years perfecting our skills. We have been working in both formats. The fact that there’s now one just means we can further develop more advance features for Blu-ray. We’re ahead of the curve.”
Cubist has always been ahead of the curve where DVD is concerned. The studio was the first in Philadelphia to offer standard-definition DVD development.
In an investment designed to solidify its leadership position, Cubist was the first independent studio on the East Coast equipped to produce content on both media. Cubist now takes that expertise and provides comprehensive project planning, multi-format video compression, motion menu design, 5.1 surround sound, and advanced authoring exclusively for Blu-ray Discs.
“We have seen significant interest in both next generation DVD formats, but many content owners held back due to the cost of entry in a two-format market,” notes John Ballentyne, president, Cubist Media Group. ”The biggest news, as we see it, is that this will lower the cost of entry and enable content owners to distribute their content, ‘the way it was meant to be seen.’”
Over the past year, Cubist’s DVD developers have created independent films, corporate presentations, tradeshow loops, and demos on Blu-ray for clients across the U.S. and in the U.K. For information on how Cubist can help you make the leap, visit online at www.bluraybycubist.com or call 267-765-7062.
